What Is CTP Psychology?

CTP stands for Compulsory Third Party insurance. In NSW, people injured in a motor vehicle crash can apply for treatment, care and support, including for psychological injuries. Where treatment has insurer approval under an accepted or approved claim, sessions are generally billed directly to the insurer.

Motor Vehicle Accident Psychology
Face-to-Face & Telehealth

If you have been injured in a motor vehicle accident and have an approved CTP claim, we provide structured psychological treatment to support recovery. Face-to-face appointments are available across our Sydney clinics, with telehealth appointments available across NSW.

A motor vehicle accident can affect more than physical health. People may experience trauma symptoms, driving anxiety, panic, low mood, sleep disturbance, pain-related distress, or reduced confidence returning to everyday activities. Our focus is on practical, evidence-based treatment with clear goals and measurable progress.

We provide treatment for a range of accident-related psychological concerns, including:

  • Trauma symptoms after a car accident
  • PTSD
  • Flashbacks and intrusive memories
  • Driving anxiety or avoidance
  • Panic attacks
  • Depression following injury
  • Sleep disturbance
  • Adjustment difficulties
  • Pain-related psychological distress
  • Reduced confidence returning to work

Telehealth

Telehealth can be a practical option when travel is difficult due to injury, distance, or anxiety about driving. We offer CTP telehealth psychology appointments across Sydney, making treatment more accessible for people who cannot easily attend in person.

Our Approach

CTP treatment is structured and recovery-focused. Depending on your needs, treatment may include CBT, trauma-focused therapy, EMDR where clinically appropriate, support for rebuilding driving confidence, and strategies to improve day-to-day functioning and return to work.
